Wake Cho (town) in Okayama prefecture has “Wake Fuji Park” where various kinds of wisterias are planted. Using a JR special rapid train and local trains, you can reach there in about 2 hours from Osaka Station. Then, it took about 10 minutes using a tax to the park.
When I passed through the entrance of the park, a big wisteria trees rose. It is the starting point of a wisteria trellis in the park.
The wisteria trellis in the park has a length of 500 meters, where about 100 kinds of wisterias were collected from all over the country. The flower colors are various such as pink, purple and white, and the park was filled with a fragrant scent.
A harmonica performance was presented on a stage located at the bottom of the park, and the audience listened with rapt attention under the trellis.
After I fully enjoyed the wisteria-blossom viewing, I went to “Wake” Shinto shrine next to the park.
“Wake” Station had a station building with the feel of the good old days of Showa. In addition, scenery, which could be seen from a window of the train, was fondly remembered.
